Fiori Musicali Orchestra
Fiori have recorded with violinist Elizabeth Wallfisch, and clarinettist Colin Lawson, and performed in Paris, and in Madrid alongside acclaimed countertenor James Bowman.
Among our many landmark performances, Fiori spearheaded the revival of Cecilian concerts at Stationers’ Hall, City of London – after what had been a hiatus of nearly 300 years – with a tercentenary performance of Purcell’s famous ode Hail! Bright Cecilia (a work written originally for the 1692 St Cecilia celebrations).
Fiori Musicali have been bringing the unique sound of authentic instrument performance right to the heart of England for over 30 years.
Under the baton of Dr Penelope Rapson Fiori’s orchestral repertoire stretches from Monteverdi’s celebrated Vespers of 1610 to the world of Schubert’s Vienna and beyond.
Not tied completely to the world of baroque and classical, the orchestra have teamed up with leading Spanish guitarist José María Gallardo del Rey to give what are probably the first authentic instrument performances of Rodrigo’s celebrated guitar concerto. Fiori have also commissioned music from the late Geoffrey Burgon.
