Attention you Fashionistas and foot wear lovers!
Until Sunday 6th July The University of Northampton School of Arts is holding its annual showcase of graduate work in the areas of fashion, footwear, textiles, surface design and fashion marketing at the Northampton Museum and Gallery.
Now what does that have to do with Fiori Musicali you say? I’m glad you asked!
Thursday evening Fiori perform fashionable virtuoso baroque music by Bach, Corelli and Handel at the Museum and Gallery. Fiori players are joined by the wonderful Kerstin Linder-Dewan on violin and Soprano Judit Felszeghy. Judit sings in full 18th-century costume so you can really get a sense of occasion and 18th-century fashion!
Fiori are well known for performing in beautiful venues but not only is the Museum and Gallery newly refurbished, there are also some great exhibitions for you to take in at the same time.
In addition to works from the students of the University of Northampton, you can see Kobi Levi and the Playful World of Shoes, an exhibition of works by the unique Israli shoe designer best known for his shoes worn by Lady Gaga in her video to pop song Born This Way. That’s in addition to around 12,000 shoes displayed!
Definitely worth a visit in my eyes, tickets are available through the box office and online.
